Immersive Visuals for Performance: Fusing Music with Its Inspirations.
Mystery, Dreams, Intrigue was a collaborative project that involved producing audiovisuals inspired by nighttime phenomena for RCM Fellow Rieko Makita's Junior Fellowship musical performance.
Timeline: 3 months.

This projects intention is a collaboration between musicians and creative technologists to produce immersive musical performances which communicate the muse inspiration for each composed piece of music. XR is the perfect medium for this as we were able to design visuals that felt collaborative with the performance versus being seen as something that overpowers.
Visuals were created primarily through Unreal Engine, with opportunities to create audio-reactive work being a key element in the design process. Visuals were paired with both classical music performance as well as experimental electronic compositions.
